On weekend mornings at the hospital many of the pts are watching TV. One room after the next has Fox or newsmax going. Lots of these folks are in poor health, and poor financial shape - and have so little to look forward to. Not surprisingly they seem to relish the idea of burning it all down, to see if it comes back better - and the grifters take full advantage. You & your bunch are actually shepherds for these poor people - though they doubtless wouldn't recognize that. Thanks for your efforts and example.
This past week I’ve been sharing on FB facts—backed up with articles that include eye witness accounts, such as an episode of OnPoint that featured two of the former Trump staff who signed the letter supporting Gen Kelly. I’ve never been exactly discreet about how I feel about Trump but I decided to really go for it so that at the very least I could say that I tried. So far I’ve had a retired Lt Col tell me that my problem is that I’m listening to the experts, that these 4 star generals like Kelly and Milley are bitter because they got disciplined, and that if I’m going to do that why wouldn’t I also listen to Dr Phil? Another told me she couldn’t vote for Harris because of the “news” that Walz is a pedophile. And a couple that my husband and I recently became friends with told us that while they find Trump “repugnant” they have to vote for him because it’s a means to an end. We decided not to ask what those means are, but I don’t know that we’ll be going out to dinner with them again.
When the retired Lt Col told me asked me what definition I was “using” for fascism I first reminded him that Gen Kelly was the one who had introduced this—not me—and then used Project Democracy to illustrate the different facets (it is an excellent website!). He then told me that it’s the left that is meeting the definition, not Trump. I’m so discouraged at the insistence to deliberately not just ignore the facts, but to take those facts and somehow make them true in their mind about Harris. I am finding himself thinking that the only way out of this is for him to win, and do literally everything we know he and Project 25 promise, so that maybe THEN the people who voted for him will finally get it?!?
This is all very familiar to me. But you reached a lot of other people with your post who may be quietly considering your evidence. Thank you for reaching the people in your spaces!
Kristin, just want to thank you again for providing all of us who are so deeply grateful for you, and your work in the world, access last Tuesday to the training sessions sponsored by Undivided and Faith ESRN (the faith organizing team of the Election Sabotage Response Network). It was great to be together, great to hear what you shared, and great to get such vital information for the upcoming election. Press on! We are with you!!

Christians have an incredible opportunity today to reflect on Jesus' teachings and consider how they might align with values in politics that prioritize compassion, justice, and support for those in need. Here’s a look at how Democratic policies often connect with the heart of Jesus' message to love, serve, and lift each other up:
HEALTHCARE FOR ALL
Jesus’ Teaching: Jesus famously said, “For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat… I was sick, and you looked after me” (Matthew 25:35-36). He taught us to care for the sick and those in need.
Democratic Policy: Many Democratic policies focus on expanding healthcare access, like the Affordable Care Act, so people don’t suffer or die simply because they can’t afford a doctor. This reflects Jesus’ call to be there for those who are hurting and make sure no one falls through the cracks.
SUPPORT FOR THE POOR AND MARGINALIZED
Jesus’ Teaching: Jesus said in Luke 4:18 that He came to “proclaim good news to the poor… to set the oppressed free.” His ministry was dedicated to lifting up those who were forgotten or struggling.
Democratic Policy: Democrats often support policies to reduce poverty and help the working poor, like raising the minimum wage and providing food and housing assistance. These programs aim to give everyone a chance at a decent life, echoing Jesus’ commitment to those who are overlooked and in need.
WELCOMING REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS
Jesus’ Teaching: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). Jesus calls us to treat strangers and those in need with love and compassion.
Democratic Policy: The Democratic Party generally supports compassionate immigration policies, including offering protections and a fair path to citizenship for those who come seeking safety and opportunity. This mirrors Jesus’ call to open our hearts and our communities to people who may be different from us but are still children of God.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP AND CLIMATE ACTION
Biblical Principles: Genesis 2:15 teaches that God entrusted us to “work and take care of” the earth. Jesus also taught us to love our neighbors, and caring for the environment is a way to protect our neighbors from harm.
Democratic Policy: Democrats prioritize climate change and environmental protection because pollution and climate issues often harm the most vulnerable. Protecting God’s creation aligns with the idea that we are caretakers of the earth for each other and for future generations.
EQUALITY AND RACIAL JUSTICE
Jesus’ Teaching: The Bible says, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile… for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). Jesus broke down barriers, showing that all people are equal and loved by God.
Democratic Policy: The Democratic Party emphasizes equality and justice for everyone, often supporting policies that address racial discrimination, promote fair treatment in the criminal justice system, and protect marginalized communities. This reflects the belief that everyone is equal in God’s eyes and deserves respect and dignity.
TAX POLICIES TO SUPPORT THE COMMON GOOD
Jesus’ Teaching: Jesus taught, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s” (Luke 20:25). While He didn’t talk taxes in detail, He encouraged using wealth to serve others, as in the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus.
Democratic Policy: Democrats often push for fair taxation, where wealthier people and large corporations pay their share to help fund education, healthcare, and infrastructure that benefit everyone. This principle reflects Jesus’ call to help the poor and seek a just society where everyone has a chance to thrive.
These values—caring for the sick, supporting the poor, welcoming the stranger, protecting creation, upholding equality, and promoting the common good—are not just policies; they’re foundational to Jesus’ teachings. Aligning with these principles is a powerful way to live out our faith in a way that makes our society more compassionate, fair, and loving, just as Jesus taught us to be.
I find it sad that you have implied that Trump is somehow planning to do anything more than expect election integrity. There is a fare right fringe of ‘Christian Nationalists’ that have tainted the MAHA/MAGA crowd, but let’s be fair and not put every Trump supporter into the ‘basket of deplorable’. There are many reasons to oppose a candidate that is actually calling for abolishing free speech, for celebrating a woman’s right to abortion up to and including the birthing process of a fully viable human, promoting the indefensible trans agenda without reservation to children, and supporting endless foreign wars.
There will be a major attempt to manufacture votes, fraud is always possible.
I don't recall putting every Trump supporter into the basket of deplorables. I am providing this information precisely because I don't believe many Americans on all sides are aware of the threats non-partisan experts on democracy have identified. Click on some of the links to learn more.
The January 6, 2021 domestic-terrorist attack and especially its aftermath spoke volumes about Republicans' (lack of) commitment to free and fair elections—if those terrorist actions actually had been committed by "antifa impostors," as I was told without evidence, Republicans' and Trump's actions against them would have been much harsher. Also, the 34-count felon himself isn't totally anti-abortion, either, nor has he ever been. "I'm very pro-choice," he told Meet the Press on October 24, 1999 when asked to his face about partial-birth abortion. "I am pro-choice in every respect." So if you oppose Harris on those grounds, you also have to oppose Trump, and he should be in jail anyway.
You also don’t acknowledge that there were fbi and cia operatives in the crowd that provoked hysteria, but then you likely believe the Liz Chaney kangaroo court?
Going back 24 years to pull up a ‘pro choice’ sound bite. pro choice is vastly different than Pro Abortion. Remember back then, “safe, legal and rare ?” We now have the states working it out, where it belongs, thanks to overturning roe.

Don has already said that if he doesn't win the election will have been rigged and there will be a "blood bath." We do well to be concerned
Thank you so much for all of these resources. They are so helpful!
I haven't figured out how to forward these. If you'd let me know how, I have friends and relatives who would be interested in reading this.

This is true and we will all be watching and awaiting the outcome of what we believe will be a free and fair election 🗳️ Hope over despair 🙏🏼
