The NRB speech foreshadows a nightmare. We better get out there in the streets and on the phones leading up to the election or we’ll have to add ourselves to those who deserve blame for allowing that nightmare to become a reality.

I now more understand your comment about not being able to sleep... Davis's statement about "...like mushrooms on a rainy day popping..." Recently, I've felt that with the split that is so evident in the Republican party would limit votes for Trump to about 40% of those cast. I'm not so sure right now.

I fear we can’t win, because I don’t think progressives are as fervent as our conservative Christian friends. We don’t give the way conservatives do. We don’t rally like they do. And I don’t think we carry the same amount of fear as they do, except now to be afraid of them. I also wonder if anyone is doing research on the role that we educated class people have in creating the hatred so evident in our conservative neighbors, relatives, and even friends. We looked down of them for a long time, thinking we were better because we were educated. Personally I’ve been trying to own my role in that. Just processing here. Scary times. I’m thinking of making exit plans.

Another great post Kristin! I try to watch most of the videos you post as I enjoy watching them. I’m beginning to feel like a groupie. However, the information is so important not to share!

Happy to hear 50K! I fully agree with Robert Jones. I just can't bring myself to utter this J6. I see as diluting the entire thing. That is all.

It is good to hear of the awakening … I sometimes wonder what impact our words and conversations are having. Still I am so grateful for your voice alongside others, sounding the alarm.

I read David French’s article this week about America’s most overlooked political divide. He asserts the extreme wings are arguing with one another while those in the middle are exhausted and disengaged. He refers to a poll on Christian Nationalism and essentially how people are as uninformed now as they were in 2022 despite all of the conversation around it. I am weary of the both sides equivocations. I had a couple of conversations this week with friends who used this idea that both sides have problems. I asked for more specifics and heard and named policy differences on both sides, while explaining only one side has become extreme in its ideology. Only one side is working to undermine American democracy.

What David named about the exhausted middle does have some resonance as I find so many are just tired and don’t want to do the work required to be informed. For many, I fear, it is simply a place of privilege combined with a fear of losing that position which keeps them immobilized.

I am not sure of the through path, but I do know silence and resignation are not the way.
