I read endorsements introduction and well every word from cover to cover. I’m just a high school graduate. So I’m careful who I trust. My spiritual director my friend Trish who will be ordained as a pastor in April. Yup a CRC church. I trust you Kirsten so I recommend JESUS AND JOHN WAYNE OR BUY COPIES TO LONE OUT. SO thank you for all you do. I endorse you.Wilma Rabidoux Hudsonville Michigan. CRC church member

Thank you, so helpful. Sad the only 2 to so far rescind endorsements are people of color and getting flack for that. Makes me wonder if it’s better, worse, or equal those who attack books they have not read. And it feels like that may be more common from the Christian community. It would be interesting to see how much overlap there is. Bless you.

Endorsements aside, I'm just happy that you like to write! I could hardly put J&JW down the 1st time through. But I recognized SO MUCH of what you wrote in much of what I lived through and in the midst of that now, I am in full agreement. I mention your book often to friends and I imagine you've seen the same the looks on people's faces of, "Like, what?!"

Really thoughtful! As an educator, I leave comments on students' work and understand the labor of engaging fully with a person's effort while supplying them with an authentic response. But then to have this private exchange be monetized and open for attack is really overwhelming. I love the Korean word, "화이팅!" which is a cheer of encouragement! I offer this to you in all of your endeavors to shine a light on speaking truth to power.

Thank you for explaining the differences between the academic and Christian worlds of publishing. I suspected as much. How do you get ANY writing done with the number of endorsements you have agreed to give? I’m more than impressed.

Much much lower level... I will review books that I read on the regular places like NetGallery, Amazon and GoodReads, identifying myself as a librarian

My reviews are of the whole read books. My most recent was when a prof on the West Coast had a 1 star review on a book that cited bogus reasons. Using NetGallery, I posted reviews where I connected, where I learned, and where I want to learn more. It might make a blurb with a good editor

I’m currently staring down 450 abstracts for my theology of worship project... any excuse to procrastinate is a blessing
