When I was a young evangelical and started having kids, I thought James Dobson and his wife had all the answers. As I got older and had a better sense of parenting, and then met people who worked for Focus on the Family, and read more of Dobsons’s writings, I was so disillusioned. Now, even more so after reading what he wrote if Obama was elected president. Actually, disillusioned is the wrong word. Disgusted. I am disgusted.

Christians have felt under threat iof losing their freedom for as long as I can remember. They make themselves into martys.

The difference now is that they want to morally control the population they live in and demand others' sexual identity, immigration, gun control issues to follow their concept of what is right.

Thank you for writing. Always encouraging.

Thank you for sounding the alarm. I attended the Faith and Democracy event in Tempe Sunday evening and am resolved to push back against the false narratives and the outright lies that are circulating around me.

Once again, thank you, thank you for your post.

Some good news at least to me regarding long time evangelical friends who are now taking a different view. While he and his wife have not been a part of the nationalist movement they have kept strong alliances to James Dobson and Franklin Graham. If I ever mentioned those names in a critical way my friends would cringe at me. I soon learned to steer clear of that subject. Last weekend was different. They are now proud of a segment of Christians who are standing up to the likes of Graham, Dobson, and Trump. I dropped my jaw and slowly started to smile. My non- theistic mindset said a little prayer of thanks. Amen

Wow, this is encouraging. Do you know what broke for them?

I think it’s been incremental in nature. Specifically, along with Trump’s declining rhetoric they see a disconnect in Franklin Graham’s continued support of the former president.

I thought I was alone in my distrust of Franklin Graham.

We are already seeing this in accusations that Harris is the "antichrist...

I offer this "christening" from Jim Wallis as an antedote...

And yet, the other major candidate says and does so many things which ARE anti- or against the teachings and example of Jesus.

Yes, REAL Christians should be afraid of a Trump Presidency. 70% of Evangelicals aren't Christian, at all. These QAnon Evangelicals along with QAnon Catholics (Opus Dei) are the heart and soul of "Christian" Nationalism who follow the teachings of Moses (meant for only the children of Israel) in a complete rejection of the teachings of Jesus. Project 2025 is right out of the old testament with its implementation of Mosaic Law on the country. The 30% have been a silent minority and I feel your warning is a bit too late. However, just like the deafening silence of actual Christian Evangelicals over the past 10 years, I think you guys will be OK as long as you continue to keep your mouth shut if Trump wins. Harris represents the only Christian ethics in this race. If the 30% don't vote for her, they will get what they deserve; politically ostracized and tragically attacked when witnessing their faith to Faux Christians in charge of the gov't. You know damn well this is true as 60% of "Evangelicals" consider the teachings of Jesus to be "liberal talking points".

Of course, if Trump loses, the QAnon Evangelicals and Catholics will call on their God (in the form of Trump) to help them destroy the evil, blood-sucking pedophile cabal (Democrats) who have "stolen" another election. Either way, real Christians will be caught up in the mess along with the rest of us and no amount of "what would Jesus do" will stop them. "Christian" Nationalism as defined by their own words: "When Jesus comes back, he will be carrying an AR-15". Real Christians should have been fighting this cancer on their religion a long time ago.

Our secular gov't should have nipped this in the bud, starting with rejection of "In God we Trust" on coins after the Civil War to not replacing the National Motto with it or turning the children's poem, the Pledge of Allegiance" into a prayer with "under God". The God of the old Testament is vile creature, per Moses' edicts, and the very reason behind Jesus' revolt against it, per the allegorical New Testament (and the historical facts that back that up).

This morning I was reading in Psalm 119 and verse 23 struck me as applicable: "Even though princes sit plotting against me, thy servant will meditate on thy statutes."

I don’t know if you believe God can speak to you through your Facebook feed, but I do; it happened to me a few days ago! There was a post from Quanta magazine about Srinivasa Ramanujan a mathematician who was born into poverty in

Erode, Madras, India on December 22, 1887 and died April 26 1920 (32 years), in India.

This led me to lookup and watch this movie that I had watched years before.

https://youtu.be/npcmIC-I7Ec?si=GDzXYXMl-UH9oaLe

If you don’t have time to watch the movie, here is a quote and some words from the end of the movie.

“Every equation has no meaning unless it expresses a thought of God”

In a display case in the Cambridge University, Trinity College.

In 1976. a "lost notebook" was discovered containing groundbreaking new formulas from the last year of Ramanujan's life. (1919)

The importance of which was compared to the discovery of Beethoven's Tenth Symphony;

A century later these formulas are being used to understand the behaviour of black holes.

Therefore Frends, for lack of a better word I will refer to

Ramanujan as the Math Jesus!
