Wow. What a humbling and powerful message. Ty for sharing it with us and additional context for your own faith journey $ who has shaped your faith. As you travel and follow Him - may grace and peace be multiplied to you in an ( ever deepening ) knowledge of Our Father and His Son our Lord, the Christ. (2 Peter 1:2).

I too, appreciate the message, and your faith and witness. I came back to this today, and was doubly blessed; your faith is an encouragement to me, and a visible witness as well. Paul often writes to others, both affirming their faith and stating that the witness of their faith encourages his faith; and so I seek to follow his example by posting this comment.

I was doubly blessed, because the message brought truth into the light I had not seen before, in a very familiar passage. The message (and your example, in a chorus of voices speaking a strong melody in unison with some harmony as well) affirmed my resolve to continue to speak and advocate for the hurting in our world, and encourage others to do so, as well.

We are given warning about those who will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers...malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power. (II Tim 2 and 3, is where these words came from).

Why it is so difficult for so many who profess to be followers of Jesus, to see this in too many of our national leaders in both our world and the church, is puzzling..

My goodness, what a powerful, beautiful expression of our faith. This old Episcopal priest is most grateful for this sermon which lifts up the truth of the cross and the true life that it brings to all who would take up their cross and follow Jesus Christ. Thank you for sharing. Blessings upon you and your work.

Amen and amen, May we, by His grace, always lift up and worship the Lamb of God, for He alone is worthy!

Great sermon - thanks for sharing! sounds like it was a great little church community you had at ND. I’m a big fan of Jim VanderKam’s DSS work, and was thrilled to get to talk to him some last fall in South Bend. Glad to know this is his home base too. Hope your trip is productive. The scientist in me is excited (and just a tiny bit envious 😳) of the consequential projects you and Beth are working on now. 😀👍🏻
